Great backcountry hiking and camping option if you only have a long weekend to get outside. From Holland Lake Trailhead the hike to Upper Holland Lake is only about 7 miles, but it's not for the faint of heart. Lots of switchbacks keep the heart rate up, and you also need to pay attention to stay on the main trail instead of accidentally taking a spur.
Dispersed camping (read: no toilets) at Upper Holland is a real treat, the lake is great for swimming and fishing. It is also a gateway hike to other backcountry lakes in the Bob Marshall.
Be sure to check wildfire status before departing, as well as information on potential fire bans, especially in later summer. Bring bear spray along.
In late July and August be on the lookout for huckleberries!
