The Great Buffalo Hunt is an activity Great Falls locals have enjoyed for years. It's both an adventure and an opportunity to experience local art.
The hunt is a celebration of the hundreds of thousands of buffalo that used to roam the plains and the culture, history, and art of the Plains Indians.
Today, there's a variety of life-size fiberglass buffalo around Great Falls. The goal of the hunt is to discover each unique buffalo for yourself. There are 30 buffalo in total, but today (2021) only 24 of them are on public property for you to hunt.
The activity aims to educate and excite the community about the rich cultural and artistic legacy in Great Falls, Montana.

We disclosed the location of the popular Rainboffalow to help you start your very own hunt. The buffalo is designed to look like a Rainbow Trout and is covered with nearly 1,600 aluminum scales. It's by the Milwaukee Station, and you can find the coordinates below.
