Quick Summary

Story

The Stanton Lake Trail is in the Great Bear Wilderness (south of Glacier National Park).

The trail begins climbing through dense forest. We recommend bringing bear and bug spray. Most of the trail's ascent occurs in the first half of the hike and then levels off. The trail then descends to the lake.

There's lots of huckleberry bushes along the trail for you to enjoy!

The views at the lake are fantastic. We recommend dipping your feet in the water and enjoying the spoils of your climb for a while.

Are you hoping to stay at the lake overnight? Great! There's a campsite that features excellent views of the lake and the glacier in the distance.

The trail is short and fun but steep and narrow, so we recommend using discretion if bringing children on this adventure.
