Siyeh Pass Trail is a challenging and lengthy path in Glacier National Park but people love it!
It's lightly used compared to some of the more popular trails in the park but just as impressive. Waterfalls, massive peaks, and several glaciers make this trail jaw-dropping. The elevation gain is no joke, but the switchbacks after you cross Siyeh Creek help.
The bear population is very active in this area, so come prepared. The trail is not commonly crowded, and there are areas of limited visibility when you leave the wide-open spaces for enclosed hiking. This can make the route especially dangerous and susceptible to a surprise bear encounter. You can hope to see some beautiful Bighorn Sheep at the summit of this trail too!
This is a point-to-point trail, meaning you will finish at a different location than where you start. Either plan to turn around and head back at some point or have transportation arranged for the end of the trail. Some people are comfortable hitchhiking back to Siyah Pass Trailhead from Sunrift Gorge. If you don't want to rely on hitchhiking, the park shuttle service should be able to help get you back to the trailhead. For shuttle information, see here.
