Ryan Island Dam Trail and Park is a popular area for Great Falls, Montana families. The public recreational area is downstream from Ryan Dam, a hydroelectric plant on the Missouri River.
The park is surrounded by the Missouri River and is reached by a suspension bridge.
The picnic area is available to the public from Mother's Day to Labor Day, from daylight to dark, every day.
There's also a historic building in the park, Ryan Dam Clubhouse. It's an indoor reception hall available for public use. It's free of charge and can be reserved by calling (406)268-2324 or emailing mich.ostertag@northwestern.com.
