Rock City is a patch of land that is packed with hoodoos: tall, spindly structures formed within sedimentary rock by erosion. There are lots of fun pockets, spires, climbing walls, and natural mazes to explore at Rock City as well as the beautiful nature and wildlife of the Montana plains and the Two Medicine River in the canyon below.
Head to Valier, MT and when you reach town, turn north on Montana Avenue. Follow the dirt road for about 7 miles until you pass through a gate. The road/trail will curve left past the gate and end in a broad, flat parking area. There is no signage, designated trails or parking areas, so you're free to explore on your own.
Please keep in mind that these rock structures are naturally very fragile and took hundreds of years to form. Treat them kindly!
