The River's Edge History Walking Tour explores 16 different points of interest in Great Falls, Montana. Walk and learn about Capitan Meriwether Lewis's encounter with a Grizzly Bear, a 2,500-year old Native American archaeological site, and the dawn of water-powered electricity.
This self-guided tour allows you to walk through the history of Great Falls, along the Missouri River, at your own pace.
River's Edge Trail stretches almost 60 miles along both sides of the Missouri River. You can explore as little or as much of the system as you'd like.
The brochure starts your exploration on the north side, but you can begin at any of the points of interest. We suggest staring at the provided coordinates at point 6 and working to 1 and then exploring the south side.
