The Porcupine Creek Trail is in the Custer Gallatin National Forest in the Greater Yellowstone Region. The trail passes through pleasant spruce and pine forest and follows the creek loosely for the adventure's duration.
The trail is stunning, and heavy foot and hoof traffic make it extra muddy if there's any excess moisture.
The trail is a short family-friendly hike even your dog will love. The alpine meadows and creek crossings make it an exciting and easy walking trail.
We recommend carrying bear spray and making lots of noise while on the trail. Bears frequent the area, so come prepared.
There are seasonal restrictions on mountain bikes. From April 1st to June 15th, the trail is open to foot traffic only.
