Quick Summary

Story

Neat Coulee Canyon is a narrow slot canyon on the Wild and Scenic Missouri River section of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument near Fort Benton, Montana.

To get to Neat Coulee, you'll need to make a river trip to mile 56 of the Wild and Scenic stretch. You could exit the river at Hole in the Rock Road, but most people continue to Judith Landing. From the Eagle Creek Campground, it's a mile hike to the entrance of the slot canyon.

The canyon was formed by the erosion of the white sandstone cliffs. Glaciers, volcanic activity, and water erosion have created the picturesque riverside setting that exists now.

This is a beautiful adventure in Central Montana!
