Story

Morrell Falls is an impressive waterfall. This is easily one of the most popular and well loved hikes in Montana, and it's also a National Recreation Trail. The trail is easy and the falls are epic - what's not to love?!

Keep an eye out for moose along the way as well as bears. Huckleberries are prolific in the mid to late summer, but we suggest you visit this waterfall in spring or early summer to catch the massive amounts of water flowing off of it. The waterfall is so big it creates a mist that fills the valley below. It truly is impressive.

A large amount of the trail is in a burn area with limited shade, so be prepared with plenty of water and sun protection. Morrell Falls trail can be shared with hikers, mountain bikers, and horse-back riders.

If you want current trail conditions, contact the Seeley Lake Ranger

Station at (406)677-2233.

Pit toilets can be found at the trailhead and parking is plentiful. The trailhead is easy to find by following the Google driving directions above.
