The suggested and most popular float for the Missouri River is the "White Cliffs" section of the river - from Coal Banks Landing to Judith Landing. You will need two vehicles to coordinate transportation or hire a local guide to help you with put-in and pull-out. It is recommended that you stop in the Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center in Fort Benton, MT to pick up maps and information for planning your trip, or find the info you need at blm.gov. Reservations are not required for using the campsites along the river, but pre-planning certainly is. Pay attention to the water level and currant speed and so you can plan ahead. This trip is typically done in four days but by paddling it can be done it two depending on the current. Check out the "Hole In The Wall" and the slot canyon hikes while you're gathering information. They alone might convince you to start paddling. This an INCREDIBLE adventure for dedicated outdoor enthusiasts and shouldn't be missed if you have the opportunity!
