The Lower Cold Lake Trail is in the Flathead National Forrest. It's an easy and short trail that is ideal for families of most ability levels.
The trail is well maintained and relatively easy to navigate. There can be fallen trees on the trail, but the area is cleared regularly. There is a gradual incline, but the climb is manageable for most kiddos. Your kids will love the wildflowers and huckleberries that line the trail, and your pups will love the water! We recommend staying a while at the lake and enjoying a picnic.
The beginning of the trail is not very scenic, but when you get to the meadows and the lake, the hike becomes stunning!
