Lake Frances Recreation Area is in Valier, Montana, open for camping, boating, and fishing. Fifty different campsites are available and have electricity, picnic tables, and fire pits.
The area is an excellent destination for a family-friendly weekend on the water. The campground has clean restrooms, two boat ramps, a fish cleaning station, an RV dump station with potable water fill up, a children's playground, and a grassy area for volleyball and badminton.
There are great opportunities for fishing, swimming, and hiking. Some of the trails are great for walking and biking. They provide spectacular views of the Rocky Mountain front.
The lake is regularly stocked with walleye and pike. So a fishing pole may be necessary for your family get-a-way.
