The Kings Hill Scenic Byway is an ideal way to savor the rugged beauty of Central Montana. The route passes through the Lewis and Clark National Forest and Little Belt Mountains.
This adventure includes both highway and dirt road driving. You'll have spectacular views of mountain scenery and high country lakes.
If you want to extend your adventure, you can explore trailheads, campgrounds, and old mines. You can fish, downhill ski, float, mountain bike, explore on horseback and snowmobile in the area.
From Great Falls, head towards Belt on 87 and then south on 89 towards Riceville. You can stop at Sluice Boxes State Park, Dry Fork Road, Memorial Falls, Winter Recreation Parking Area, Kings Hill Campground and Porphyry Peak Lookout, Jumping Creek Campground, White Sulpher Springs, and Newlan Reservoir.
Winter driving conditions can be difficult, check road conditions.
