Highline Trail is one of the most popular hikes in all of Glacier National Park. It's quite possibly the most beautiful way to view all the park has to offer. This trail is impressive both in the views and in the effort required to finish it. There are easier and harder ways to do this hike so find the right hike for your ability.
A popular way to experience Highline is to hike into it enough to turn around and return the way you came. People often start at Logan Pass, finish at the Loop Trailhead, and take a shuttle back to their cars.
A great deal of this Trail is along a ridgeline so it can be intimidating. However, this allows for unique views of the beautiful, vast surrounding peaks and canyon.
There is a parking lot just off the Logan Pass Visitor Center, which can be very crowded and fills up often. You should start your adventure as early as possible.
Here is a link to the shuttle info.
However much of the Trail you decide to conquer, make sure you bring plenty of water and food. This is not an "easy" hike, but the views are unmatched and absolutely worth the effort! You should also be prepared with appropriate hiking shoes, thick socks, and hiking poles.
Wildlife abounds in the surrounding countryside. You can expect to see bighorn sheep and mountain goats on the trail. One thing you can not miss on the trail are the signs warning you of the bear population, so plan accordingly; we recommend not hiking alone.
Be safe and enjoy the remarkable experience only the Highline Trail can offer.
