Hellroaring Creek Trail is a challenging hike in Yellowstone National Park. First, the trail descends to the Yellowstone River Suspension Bridge. You cross the River and proceed up the trail into dense forest. From here, the climb is extensive, but there are switchbacks to help.
You follow Hellroaring Creek up until you reach the very edge of Yellowstone National Park. You can return to your car from here, but the trail is long (14.3 miles there and back), and there are multiple campgrounds on the trail, so we recommend enjoying the area for multiple days.
This is bear country, so come prepared with bear spray and make lots of noise.
Some people attempt to ford the river, but signs on the path suggest not crossing on foot. The water can be high and moving quickly, so utilize the bridges featured on the trail.
