Giant Springs State Park is in Great Falls, Montana. Giant Springs is one of the largest freshwater springs in the country!
The springs cascade into the world's smallest river, the Roe River.
They were first recorded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805. From the park, you can learn more about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, silver smelting, and Paris Gibson (the founder of Great Falls).
The park provides the opportunity for so many activities! People use the park for hiking, biking, picnicking, photography, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and so much more.
Your kiddos can play on the playground. You can string up a hammock between the park's tall trees. Take the family to visit the Giant Springs Fish Hatchery, walk through the visitor center, or feed the fish in the show pond. You can take a walk or ride your bike along one of the River's Edge Trails featured in the park. The opportunities are endless!
