Nestled peacefully in the Flathead Valley of Western Montana is a spiritual site. A Native American reservation in Montana might be the last place you might think to find a Buddhist shrine, but near Arlee, Montana, within the Flathead Indian Reservation is The Garden of One Thousand Buddhas.
The garden was established as an international place for peace in the year 2000. The garden contains a 750-foot circular monument that sits on ten acres of land.
The man who purchased the property wanted the garden to bring about positive transformation within all who visited.
The shrine is a popular destination for out-of-state visitors and a beautiful adventure for Montana locals. There are one thousand hand-cast Buddha statues placed around the central figure known as the Great Mother. The one thing you are sure to gain from visiting the garden is some beautiful and unique views.
