The trail is shady. It winds through lush forest and crosses a beautiful meadow. The views from the trail are amazing but especially from the north end.

There are multiple longer hikes in the area if you want more of a workout. The Crystal Lake Shoreline Loop is a family-friendly hike that is easy to find and navigate.

Canoeing, kayaking, and fishing are allowed at Crystal Lake, and there is a campground at the lake. It's a great place to spend a weekend!
