Story

Bullhead Lake hike departs from the Swiftcurrent Trailhead at Swiftcurrent Motor Inn parking lot in Many Glacier, Glacier National Park. Currently Many Glacier is not a ticketed entrance (although you do need a park pass), however the road has been under construction for the past couple summers, so there may be delays.

The hike to Bullhead Lake is just over 7 miles, and also passes Fishercap Lake (spur trail), Redrock Lake, and Redrock Falls. The trail can be well trafficked during the summer, and for good reason as this area packs in big rewards for your efforts. Moose and bears frequent the area and the flowers are blooming in the summertime. The trail continues past Bullhead Lake up Swiftcurrent Pass to Granite Park Chalet and eventually the Going-to-the-Sun-Road. Late June is a great time to do this hike!

The parking lot for this trailhead is shared with the store, inn, and several other trails, so it does fill up very quickly some days. Getting there early in the day helps ensure you get a spot. Map of Many Glacier area hiking: https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/hikingmanyglacier.htm
