Lake Fork Trail in the Custer National Forest, near Red Lodge, Montana. The trail is almost ten miles long in total and leads to Sundance Pass. A Popular and scenic destination and turnaround point is Broadwater Lake.
It's only about four miles from the trailhead to the lake. The trail is one of the most scenic and popular trails in the Red Lodge area. It follows Rock Creek and passes several lakes.
The trail is easy and beautiful, so it's heavily trafficked. If you take it past Broadwater Lake, you will share the trail with fewer people.
There are primitive camping opportunities at the lake if you want to extend your adventure overnight.
We recommend coming prepared with bear and bug spray on this trail.
