Blacktail Mountain Trail

Blacktail Mountain Trail is a loop in Flathead National, near Choteau, Montana. The trail is on an old logging forest road that weaves through forested land.

The trail is fantastic, but it can be extensive without a spectacular destination. If you are looking for a great way to experience the area and get some exercise, this is the trail for you.

There are large meadows with views of Sawtooth Ridge and Sun River Canyon. The trail is relatively flat but becomes more complex as it climbs over the pass and into the South Fork of Deep Creek.
