The Beehive Basin Trail No. 40 is a very popular Trail in the Big Sky, MT area. It's been featured on the Fox network and National Geographic.
The trail is moderately difficult but not dangerous. It features a steady incline the whole way up and is downhill the entire way back, which might be a challenge for those with bad knees.
Backpacking, camping, day hiking, and birding are common activities on the trail. People love to snowshoe, interact with wildlife, and taking in the stunning views the area offers. Beehive Basin is stunning and well worth the effort. You'll see wildflower meadows, spectacular peaks, and mountain lakes. AND your dogs are welcome, but make sure to clean up after them!
If you start your journey early in the morning, you are likely to get parking, miss the crowds and get the added benefit of the cool morning air!
