Barker Lakes Trail is a relatively challenging hike in Anaconda, Montana.
It can be tricky finding the trailhead. To find it, turn left onto Barker Creek Road from the highway (at 46.16303056818371, -113.12312440172029). Stay straight on this dirt road until you get to the small parking area and take the left fork trail on foot (this area is the provided GPS coordinates).
After the first mile of the hike, the trail opens up to incredible views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Eventually, you will come across a creek crossing, and then the trail begins to climb in elevation. You might find that trekking poles help for the steep and rocky areas.
We recommend coming prepared with bear and bug spray. A fishing pole might also be necessary for your adventure if you want a chance at the trout in the upper lake.
